Primary Update
By S Dodds ~ Provision Lead
The students have had a busy first half of the year Phonics and reading
We have been focusing on our phonics and reading his term. All students have moved up colour bands which is a fantastic achievement!
Gymnastics
At ACE primary, we have been lucky to have weekly gymnastics sessions at the Tumbling Teddies gym with Miss Kelly and Miss B. They have been really helpful in showing us how to use different equipment, such as the bars and the balance beam, as well as getting us to explore different ways to move. It has been fantastic to see the children interacting positively with each other and exploring a different sport.
Visits to places of worship
As part of our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education and PSHE topic of celebrating difference, we were able to go on visits to different places of worship. We were welcomed into the Church of St Andrew where we learned about the Christian Faith and explored different artefacts and features of the church. We also went on a visit to the Piety Islamic Centre where we learned about the Quran and experienced prayer.
LOTC
For LOTC we have been having a fantastic time at Warleigh Barton Farm. We have been exploring how we look after different animals, as well as looking at where our food comes from as part of their food to fork programme.
